Effective today, the precautionary boil water advisory for addresses along Tamsin Street has been lifted. City crews have confirmed the system is safe and ready for normal use.
Water quality tests completed this morning confirm that the water system is safe and meets provincial standards. Residents can use their tap water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice without boiling.
If you have not used any water since the advisory began, we recommend running the cold water tap for a few minutes to flush out any water that has been sitting in your pipes. This will bring fresh water into your plumbing and improve the taste.
The advisory was put in place earlier this week after routine monitoring showed a drop in chlorine levels along the Tamsin Street corridor. As a precaution, the City asked residents and businesses to boil their water for at least one minute before use. City crews worked through the night to repair the main and restore normal pressure and disinfectant levels.
"We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation while our crews completed the necessary repairs," said Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "Our priority is always providing safe, reliable water to every household and business in Wrenford."
During the advisory, residents who needed water for medical or elderly care can still request water jug delivery by calling the City at 519-555-0100. Water tankers and jug delivery services are available for those who require assistance during outages.
