Join a neighbourhood cleanup to improve local green spaces

Starting this spring, the City of Wrenford is rolling out its annual neighbourhood cleanup program. Residents can register their block or green space to receive free cleanup kits and join organized events across the city, starting with the first drop-off depot pickup on April 19.

The program gives neighbourhoods the tools to tackle litter, clear invasive plants, and restore green spaces. The City provides free kits with bags, gloves, and grabbers for groups of up to six people. Participants can also pick up larger supplies for bigger park or trail projects. All collected yard waste and litter goes to the City's depots or is composted through the Green Bin program. Each ward has a dedicated the Neighbourhoods section page with local contact details and upcoming project dates.

Residents can request a kit through the Wrenford Cleanup Contact Line or by sending an email to [email protected]. Groups of eight or more should contact the Neighbourhoods Office ahead of time so you can arrange a special drop-off. If you are organizing a larger cleanup event in a park or along the Tamsin River Trail, you may also need a block party permit or a community event permit.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our community,” says Danielle Okafor-Price, Mayor of Wrenford. “When neighbours come together to care for our parks, trails, and green spaces, we all benefit from a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming city.”
