Join a neighbourhood cleanup

Get supplies, safety tips and disposal instructions to organize a litter cleanup in your Wrenford neighbourhood or local park.

Get a cleanup kit

We provide free Wrenford Neighbourhood Cleanup Kits to residents. Each kit has enough supplies for up to six people, including heavy-duty bags, gloves and a litter grabber.

You can pick up a kit at the Northgate Drop-off Depot, 1010 Northgate Boulevard, Wrenford, ON N4Q 4B8. The depot is open Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Safety first

Your safety is the most important part of a cleanup day. Please follow these simple rules:

  • Wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather.
  • Never touch sharps like glass, syringes or metal. If you see them, mark the area and call 311 to report it.
  • Leave natural materials like leaves, deadwood and stones where they belong.
  • Do not reach into bins or try to move large items like tires or old furniture.
  • Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before eating or drinking.

How to dispose of your trash

Once you have filled your bags, place them next to an existing City garbage bin in a park or on the street. If there is no bin nearby, gather the bags together and place them one metre away from a paved path so our crews can see them.

You can also report the location of your bags using the Service Wrenford 311 app. Select “Litter Pickup,” type “Neighbourhood Cleanup,” and confirm the location. Our waste crews will collect the bags on the next scheduled route.
