Fall cleanup day scheduled at Ambrel Lake Park this weekend

As the 2026 municipal election period approaches, the City of Wrenford is hosting a fall cleanup day at Ambrel Lake Park this weekend. Residents, community groups, and volunteers are welcome to join Parks & Trails staff to clear litter, remove debris, and prepare the park for the colder months.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14. Meet-ups will be at the main pavilion near the boardwalk. The City will provide gloves, grabbers, and heavy-duty bags. Light refreshments will be available.

Since it is early in the 2026–2030 council term, volunteers will also be encouraged to check for any lingering campaign signage from previous local events or by-elections and report them to By-law Enforcement if they violate the election sign bylaws. For residents looking to properly clear their own yards of old signage, the City offers guidance on how to dispose of election signs through the Elections office.

"Community cleanups like this are a great way to show pride in our neighbourhood and keep our shared spaces safe for everyone," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We appreciate residents taking the time to help us get Ambrel Lake Park ready for fall."

Bring water, wear closed-toe shoes, and sign in at the welcome table. Families with children are welcome. If you cannot join us in person, you can still help by picking up litter on your own block and using the Garbage & Recycling page to find your collection schedule.
