The City of Wrenford is adding two new accessible drop-off lanes at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility, located at 3500 Concession 4 Road. The improvements open for use starting this spring and are designed to make it easier for residents with mobility aids, wheelchairs, and strollers to use the site safely.
What does this mean for you? The new lanes feature wider pavement, smooth paving surfaces, and tactile warning strips at the scalehouse entrance. Staff at the facility are also receiving updated training on assisting visitors with diverse accessibility needs. If you need help unloading heavy items or have questions about how the new lanes work, just ask a team member at the front desk.
"We want every resident to feel welcome and safe when visiting our waste management sites," says Robert Eng, City Manager. "These upgrades are a direct result of feedback from our Accessibility committee and our community engagement sessions. Making our services accessible to everyone is a priority for Wrenford."
The facility remains open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can still drop off household hazardous waste, leaf and yard waste, and general trash. If you notice any barriers or have suggestions for other City locations, please share them through our Accessibility feedback page. We are always looking for ways to improve.
