Our commitment to accessibility
The City of Wrenford is committed to making sure everyone can access and use our spaces, facilities and programmes. We are working to remove barriers and build inclusion across all City operations. Whether you are visiting City Hall, attending a recreation programme or calling our 311 line, we want to make sure you get the support you need.
Accessibility Plan and Policy
We are currently updating our Accessibility Policy to make sure it reflects the needs of today. The Accessibility Plan outlines how the City will improve access, identify existing barriers and track our progress. We will share updates on this work in 2026 and continue through 2027 with more opportunities for public engagement.
The plan focuses on removing four types of barriers:
- Physical barriers in buildings and parks
- Communication barriers in signs and notices
- Digital barriers on our website and online forms
- Attitudinal barriers through training and education

Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Accessibility Advisory Committee advises City Council and City Administration on strategies to improve accessibility and inclusion. The committee reviews City plans, capital projects and provincial directives to recommend ways to remove barriers. You can find meeting dates and member lists on the Accessibility page.
Accessible facilities and programmes
Most City facilities have been updated to meet modern accessibility standards. Features include accessible entrances, washrooms, and pool lifts at our recreation centres. Please check the Find a City facility page for details on specific locations.
Inclusive washrooms and change rooms
The City supports the rights of all visitors to use washroom and change room facilities that make them feel safest. Our Inclusive Washroom and Change Room Policy applies to all City buildings.
Attendant Admission Programme
If you require an attendant to help you during a City programme or activity, the Attendant Admission Programme allows an attendant to accompany you at no extra cost. Please inform staff when you register.
Accessible transit
Wrenford Access provides specialized transit for residents who are unable to use fixed-route buses. Learn about registration, fares and booking on the Accessible transit page.
