The City of Wrenford is updating the accessible parking permit program to make it easier for you to apply before winter weather arrives. These changes focus on a faster application process and clear reminders about your parking rights and responsibilities during snow and ice clearance operations.
The City worked with the Accessibility Advisory Committee to streamline the renewal process. You can now submit medical certificates and renewal forms electronically through the Accessibility at the City portal. This cuts down on wait times and keeps the process fully accessible under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). The annual permit fee remains $15.00.
Your permit exempts you from parking meters and time limits in designated zones, but you must still clear your vehicle promptly during the overnight on-street parking ban from December 1 to March 31. The City's By-law Enforcement team enforces parking bans for public safety and snow removal. If your permit is blocked by snow, call Wrenford 311 so crews can prioritize plowing your zone.
"We want to make sure that every resident who needs an accessible parking permit can get one quickly and easily, especially when winter weather makes getting around more challenging," said Katrina Doucet, the City's Accessibility Coordinator. "Our goal is to remove barriers year-round, and these updates are a step in that direction."
You can view the updated application forms, fees, and medical requirements on the Accessible parking permits page. For feedback on the new process or to report an accessibility barrier, use the Accessibility feedback page or contact Wrenford 311.
