What is an accessible parking permit?
An accessible parking permit lets you park in spaces reserved for people with disabilities in Wrenford. You need this permit to park in designated accessible zones along the street or at City facilities like Centennial Gardens and the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre. The permit is valid for one to five years, depending on your medical needs.
Where you can park
With a valid Wrenford Accessible Parking Permit, you can park in:
- Designated accessible parking zones
- Accessible parking meter spots
- Non-accessible parking options, if no accessible spaces are available
Only use the permit when the permit holder is in the vehicle. Keep your permit up to date and display it clearly in your vehicle. If you use a mobility device or wheelchair, make sure it is stored safely while you park.
Exemptions and time limits
Your permit gives you exemptions from certain parking restrictions. You can park in these zones without paying or using a timer:
- Resident permit parking and resident parking only: up to 3 hours
- Regular loading zones: up to 30 minutes while actively loading or unloading people or materials
- Passenger zones: up to 30 minutes while actively loading or unloading
- No Parking zones: up to 30 minutes while actively loading or unloading
Always follow posted signs. If a sign says "No Stopping", your permit does not override it. You must still obey all traffic and parking rules while loading or unloading.
