On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, City of Wrenford Roads & Winter Maintenance crews finished installing new signage at Benchlands Lookout Park. The improvements cover the main park entrance, the festival grounds, and the trailheads leading to the Tamsin River Trail System.
The old wooden markers have been replaced with durable, reflective posts and updated wayfinding signs. Residents will now find clearer directions to the lookout point, the picnic shelters, and the Corvid Creek Ravine trail connection. The City also added high-visibility safety signs near the steep sections of the pathway and installed tactile markers to help visitors with visual impairments navigate the park safely.
If you notice a missing, damaged, or hard-to-read sign in any City park or along a trail, please let us know. You can submit a request through our Report a missing or damaged sign form, or call Roads & Winter Maintenance directly.
"We want everyone to feel safe and confident when visiting our outdoor spaces," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "These upgraded signs make it easier for families, runners, and festival visitors to find their way, while also highlighting important safety information."
The City continues to upgrade park infrastructure as part of the broader Roads & Winter Maintenance improvement plan. For more information about park safety, trail access, or how to request a new street light or report a pothole, visit the Roads & Winter Maintenance section of our website.
