The City of Wrenford is proposing updated water and wastewater rates and fees for 2025. The draft rates will be reviewed by Council next month before a final decision is made.
The proposed changes keep costs manageable while covering inflation, routine system maintenance, and new conservation programs. You can review the full draft rates and fees schedule on the Water and sewer rates and fees page.
For 2025, the City is proposing the following changes to the monthly water service charges based on your meter size:
- $10.00 for a 13 mm meter (up from $8.50)
- $15.00 for a 20 mm meter (up from $12.75)
- $20.00 for a 25 mm meter (up from $18.00)
- $35.00 for a 40 mm meter (up from $32.50)
- $50.00 for a 50 mm meter (up from $48.00)
The per-cubic-metre usage rates remain unchanged to encourage conservation. The base rate is $1.85 per m³ for the first 100 cubic metres of water used. Usage above 100 cubic metres is charged at $2.65 per m³. Wastewater charges are calculated at $1.95 per m³ for 90 per cent of your total water consumption.
"We want to ensure our water system stays safe, reliable, and efficient for everyone in Wrenford," said Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "These proposed rates cover essential pipe repairs, water quality testing, and upgrades to our treatment facilities. We kept the usage rates steady this year to reward residents who are actively saving water."
Water conservation remains a top priority for the City. If you would like help reducing your water usage, you can book a Free Home Water Audit through our conservation team. The City also offers rebates for installing water-efficient appliances under the WaterWise Appliance Rebate programme.
