Wrenford Public Library announces 2024 summer reading program

The Wrenford Public Library is excited to announce the 2024 Summer Reading Programme, running from June 1 to August 31 at all three branches. This year’s theme, "Stories of the Tamsin," invites you and your family to explore local history, nature, and adventure through a curated list of books and weekly workshops.

You can help children ages five to twelve join the "River Rangers" track, where they will earn prizes for every hour spent reading. If you have younger readers aged three to four, they can join the "Little Explorers" programme for interactive storytimes and simple reading challenges. Teens can participate in the "Page Turners" group, which focuses on young adult fiction and creative writing workshops at the Main Branch and the Northgate location.

You can pick up a reading log at any branch or download one from the Library website. Our staff will track your progress and award small gifts at milestones. In addition to reading, the programme includes monthly author visits, craft sessions, and a community storytelling event at Centennial Gardens in July.

"We are thrilled to bring the community together through the joy of reading," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "This programme encourages a love of books while building connections between our branches and the neighbourhoods they serve."

To join, simply visit any branch to register or sign up online through Wrenford Recreation Online. You can bring your children to their first storytime session with a parent or caregiver. For a full schedule of events and programme details, visit the Library section or contact the Main Branch at 519-555-0130.
