Winter service vehicle timing changes for next week

The City of Wrenford is adjusting winter service vehicle timing for the week of February 19 to 23. These changes will help crews catch up on snow and ice removal following last weekend's heavy storm.

Crews will follow the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097 to clear streets in the correct order. Main roads and bus routes get priority. Residential streets are cleared after the main arteries are safe. Because of the storm, some residential routes may start earlier or later than usual. You can see exactly when your street will be serviced on the Snow clearing and sidewalk plowing page.

To keep crews moving safely, please remember the overnight on-street parking ban. It runs from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. every day between December 1 and March 31. Removing vehicles from snow routes lets plows and salt trucks work without stopping. If you have a verified mobility condition, you can apply for a snow route parking ban exemption.

We also ask that you keep your vehicle off the road until the street has been plowed and salted. This protects your car from damage and keeps emergency vehicles moving. If your vehicle gets stuck or damaged by a snowplow, you must submit a report within 48 hours. Find out how to request a winter service vehicle repair.

"Getting the main roads clear first means residents can still get to work and school safely," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "We ask everyone to please follow the overnight parking ban so our plows and salt trucks can do their jobs."

If you need to change your regular winter service stop timing, you can submit a request through the winter service timing adjustment guide. The City reviews these requests to make sure everyone gets fair and timely service.
