The City of Wrenford is launching its first Seniors Housing Strategy to better understand and meet the changing housing needs of older adults in our community. As the population ages, many residents aged 55 and older will require different housing options that consider affordability, health, and accessibility. Starting today, we are asking seniors, Elders, caregivers, and anyone interested in aging in place to share their thoughts and experiences.
The strategy will explore new housing solutions, update design guidelines for senior-focused buildings, and look at rezoning options. It will also strengthen partnerships with senior-serving organizations and improve collaboration with provincial and federal government partners. The goal is to create practical policies and immediate actions that help Wrenford seniors live safely and independently in their homes for as long as possible.
We want to hear from you. You can take the online survey from March 20 to April 10, 2024. You can also join a pop-up event at a location near you:

“Housing is one of the biggest factors in how well we age,” said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “This strategy is about making sure our neighbourhoods, parks, and services keep up with the needs of our older residents. Your stories and ideas will directly shape the policies we build this year.”
