The City of Wrenford is looking for volunteers to help run Wrenford Ice Days at Riverside Flats Park during Family Day weekend in February. Applications for volunteer shifts are now open, and we want to hear from you.
Volunteers will work alongside event staff to keep the weekend running smoothly. You might help guide participants through the games, manage registration tables, check equipment, or make sure the safety zones are clear. Shifts are available throughout the event weekend, and you can choose the times that work best for you.
To apply, visit the Volunteer opportunities page. You will need to complete a brief application form online. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must sign your form. All volunteers must pass a standard background check before their first shift. We ask that you submit your application by February 1, 2024, so we can finish training and scheduling on time.
"Ice Days is a beloved winter tradition for our community, and it relies on the energy and dedication of our volunteers," said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. "We are so grateful to everyone who steps up to help make the weekend a success."
Volunteers will receive a free event t-shirt, a volunteer appreciation certificate, and access to warm-up centres and hot drinks during their shifts. The City also provides training and supervision on-site. If you have questions about the roles, you can reach out through the volunteer portal.
