Benchlands Folk Festival celebrates final weekend with local talent

The final weekend of the Benchlands Folk Festival is taking place at Benchlands Lookout Park, and you are invited to enjoy a full day of music, food, and family fun. The festival has been drawing crowds all season to the grounds overlooking Wrenford Falls, and this closing weekend will highlight the very best of our local performing arts scene.

You will find multiple stages set up across the park, showcasing acoustic acts, folk groups, and community choirs from across the region. The festival committee has lined up a diverse lineup that blends traditional sounds with contemporary local talent. In between sets, you can browse artisan stalls, try your hand at a craft workshop, or grab a bite from one of the many food vendors serving up regional favourites.

For families, the children’s area will feature face painting, storytelling sessions, and interactive music games. All activities are free to attend, and the park is open to the public until the evening performances wrap up.

Getting to the park is easy if you drive, bike, or take Wrenford Transit. Several free shuttle routes run from the Downtown Transit Terminal and the Northgate Transit Hub during festival hours. If you drive, please note that the festival grounds fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early or using public transit. Street parking is available along Benchlands Drive and the surrounding concession roads, but please follow all posted signs and Check parking regulations and bylaws to avoid a ticket.

We know you love supporting local artists, and this festival is a great way to do just that. All proceeds from vendor fees go directly back into the community arts fund, which helps us keep cultural programming affordable and accessible for everyone.

“Events like the Benchlands Folk Festival bring our neighbourhoods together and give local musicians a stage to share their work,” says Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the music, and celebrate what makes our city such a great place to live.”

Before you head out, take a moment to review the full schedule on the event website and check the weather. The park washrooms are open throughout the day, and first aid staff will be on site. If you have questions about accessibility, parking, or the event schedule, you can reach the Arts & Heritage team at [email protected] or call 519-555-0100.

We hope you will join us for one last weekend of tunes and community spirit. For more information on local festivals, grant opportunities, and cultural programming, visit View the arts and culture plan.
