The City of Wrenford is declaring a temporary overnight parking ban for the Ambrel Lake Park neighbourhood, effective at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, December 23, through 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24.
This ban covers all streets within the designated zone, including Ambrel Lake Road, Eastfield Road, and the surrounding residential crescents and courts. During this window, no on-street parking will be allowed. Any vehicles remaining on the road after 2:00 a.m. will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner's risk and expense. This measure is necessary under the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097 to allow our snow clearing crews to push snow from the roads and keep the neighbourhood accessible for emergency vehicles.
What you need to do:
- Move your vehicle to a private driveway, a commercial parking lot, or a City-operated facility where parking is permitted before 2:00 a.m.
- If you require an exemption due to a medical or accessibility need, you can apply for an exemption ahead of time.
- Check your local service alerts on December 22 for any last-minute updates to the ban zone.
"We know it can be an inconvenience to move your car on a Friday evening, but clearing these streets quickly helps keep the Ambrel Lake Park area safe and accessible for everyone," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "Thank you for helping us get a great start on the winter season."
Once the ban is lifted at 6:00 a.m. on December 24, normal parking rules will resume. Residents can follow the City on social media or visit our snow route parking bans page for information on how overnight bans work, how to read the posted signs, and what to expect when snow crews are in the area.
