About the program

The Home Services for Seniors program helps older Wrenford residents stay safely in their own homes. We provide seasonal yard work, snow clearing, and light housekeeping or minor repair services for eligible residents aged 65 and over.

What we cover

  • Outdoor work: grass cutting, leaf removal, and snow shoveling or plowing from the driveway to the front door.
  • Indoor help: light housekeeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
  • Minor repairs: changing light bulbs, replacing smoke detector batteries, and basic weather stripping.

Eligibility rules

To qualify, you must be 65 years of age or older, live alone or with a spouse who is also a senior, and meet the income thresholds set out in the program guidelines. Priority is given to residents living in single-family homes or ground-level units.

How to apply

Applications are accepted year-round. You can submit a completed form at the Service Wrenford counter in Room 100 of Wrenford City Hall, or request one by calling 311. A community services coordinator will contact you within five business days to confirm your details and schedule your first service visit.

Program updates

The program is currently operating as scheduled. Due to high demand and funding reviews for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, we may place new applicants on a seasonal waitlist. Existing clients will continue to receive services through the end of their current contract period.
