Community engagement grants

Financial support for neighbourhood events, festivals and community-building projects in Wrenford.

About community engagement grants

If you are planning a neighbourhood event, local festival or community-building project, you can apply for a community engagement grant. These grants help cover costs like equipment rentals, marketing, guest speakers and accessibility features. We want to make it easier for residents to bring people together and strengthen local connections.

How much funding is available?

  • Neighbourhood Event Support Grant: Up to $2,500 for small-scale events like block parties, street fairs and community picnics.
  • Community Festival Grant: Up to $7,500 for larger events such as seasonal festivals, cultural celebrations and neighbourhood days.

Who can apply?

Registered community associations, neighbourhood groups and not-for-profit organisations operating in Wrenford can apply. You do not need to be a registered charity, but your event must be open to the public and free or low-cost to attend.

Application rules

  • Submit your application through the Wrenford eGrants portal at least 60 days before your event.
  • All applicants must provide proof of $2 million public liability insurance.
  • Events with more than 100 attendees must submit a safety and crowd management plan.
  • Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual budget is spent.
  • Recipients must submit a short completion report within 30 days after the event.

Planning your event

Remember that a grant is not a permit. You still need to follow all City by-laws and secure the necessary permits. If your event will close a street, book a community event permit through the City. For events that include food vendors, check the food safety requirements with Tamsin Valley Public Health. If you need noise variances for music or amplified sound, contact By-law Enforcement.
