Join the Wrenford Transit team

Wrenford Transit keeps our city moving. We run 14 fixed routes, special transit for residents with mobility needs, and school special services. Our team of operators, mechanics, dispatchers, and customer service staff make sure you get where you need to go safely and on time. If you enjoy working with people and value public service, transit is a great place to build a career.

As a unionized workplace, shift scheduling and vacation requests follow seniority rules. We offer competitive pay, strong benefits, and the chance to work for the level of government closest to you. Whether you have experience behind the wheel or are just starting out, we have roles for you.

Common job categories

  • Bus Operators: Drive our buses, assist passengers, collect fares, and follow all traffic laws. You will work split shifts, weekends, early mornings, and holidays.
  • Transit Technicians: Keep our fleet running safely. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and repair buses in our maintenance yard.
  • Customer Service Representatives: Help riders with schedules, passes, and Wrenford Access bookings from our Downtown Transit Terminal.
  • Dispatchers: Monitor routes, manage schedule adjustments, and communicate with operators and field crews via radio and computer systems.

How to apply

We recommend creating an online account so you can save your profile and set up job alerts. You will need a current resume and a cover letter that explains how your experience matches the job requirements. Our hiring process is straightforward:

  1. Submit your application: Visit our Careers page to find open positions and upload your documents.
  2. Screening: Our hiring team reviews applications. If you meet the criteria, we will email you to request additional documents, such as your driver's abstract or proof of education.
  3. Assessments: Shortlisted candidates complete job suitability tests or practical assessments.
  4. Interview: We invite candidates to an in-person interview and conduct reference checks.
  5. Training: Successful applicants attend a paid training program before starting their first shift.
