About parking permits in Wrenford
On-street parking is public space, and in busy neighbourhoods it fills up fast. The parking permit programme helps manage demand in areas near downtown, Wrenford General Hospital, and the downtown transit terminal. If you live or work in a restricted zone, a permit lets you park on your street longer than the posted time limits. Standard time limits still apply outside the permit zones or during peak enforcement hours.
Permit types and fees
- Residential parking permit — $75.00 annually. For residents who live in a designated residential parking zone.
- Visitor parking permit — $25.00 annually. Residents may buy up to two visitor permits so guests can park close to home.
- Accessible parking permit — $25.00 annually. For residents who hold a valid provincial accessibility placard and need larger stalls to load and unload mobility devices.
- Student parking permit — $50.00 annually. For full-time students attending a local school or college.
How to apply
You can apply for a parking permit online through the Service Wrenford portal, or you can visit us in person. In-person applications are accepted at the Service Wrenford counter on the ground floor of Wrenford City Hall. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bring your documents with you, and a staff member will help you complete the form.
What you need to bring
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Proof of vehicle ownership, such as a current vehicle registration. If you are not the registered owner, bring a signed letter from the owner declaring you are the principal operator.
- Proof of residency for residential and student permits. A utility bill, lease agreement, or property tax notice dated within the last three months works.
- A copy of your provincial accessibility placard for the accessible permit.
Using your permit
Wrenford issues digital parking permits. After your application is approved, you will receive a printable PDF by email. Print it and place it clearly on your dashboard so enforcement officers can see it. We no longer mail physical decals or stickers.
Permits are non-transferable. If you move to a new address, change vehicles, or update your licence plate, you must update your permit details online or at Wrenford City Hall. Permits issued for one vehicle or address cannot be used for another.
