What is a delegation?
A delegation is a chance for you or a group to speak directly at a City Council meeting about a topic on the agenda. You can talk about local issues, proposed by-laws, or how City services affect your neighbourhood. You do not need to live in Wrenford to make a delegation, but your topic should relate to City matters.
How to register
You must register before your meeting. Please submit your name, the topic you want to discuss, and your contact information by 4:30 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting. You can register by email, phone, or through the online form on the Meetings & Agendas page. If you need a translator or an accommodation, please let us know when you register so we can arrange it.
Rules for speaking
Each speaker gets up to five minutes. If you are speaking with a group, please choose one person to present, or split the five minutes among your members. You can bring notes or handouts, but the City does not print extra copies for the Council table. Please be respectful and stick to your time limit. If you need more time, you can ask to submit a written letter for the public record instead.
Attending in person or virtually
Council meets in the Council Chambers at Wrenford City Hall. The room is fully accessible, and assistive listening devices are available at the front desk. If you cannot attend in person, you can join the meeting online. Once you register, the meeting support team will email you a secure link to watch and speak virtually. The City also provides automated captions for all virtual meetings. See Attend a council meeting for full details.
Fees
There is no fee to make a delegation or to speak at a Council meeting. Complimentary transit tickets are available for in-person participants on the day of the meeting, and parking validation is offered for the City Hall parkade.
