Explore our election history and resources

The City of Wrenford is proud to present the Election exhibit, a display that traces the history of voting in our community from the first town meetings in 1857 to the modern ballot boxes used today. Whether you are a first-time voter, a returning resident, or a history enthusiast, the exhibit offers a clear look at how residents have shaped their city.

Where to view the exhibit

The full physical exhibit is on display at the Old Mill Museum & Archives, located at 12 Mill Street. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can also find a condensed version of the display in the lobby of Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, during regular business hours. Both locations feature interactive timelines, historical voting cards, and photographs from past municipal elections.

What you will learn

The exhibit breaks down the evolution of local democracy in Wrenford. You can explore how Wrenford became a city in 1951, and how the ward system expanded to cover our growing neighbourhoods. There are also dedicated sections on the upcoming 2026 municipal election on October 26, 2026, explaining:

Visitors can also see how advance voting and special ballots have made casting a vote easier for busy residents and those with mobility challenges. The exhibit highlights the City's commitment to accessible elections, including the use of accessible voting equipment and clear signage at all polling stations.
