Give back to Wrenford's parks
Thank you for wanting to support Wrenford's green spaces. Citizens, community groups, and businesses are welcome to donate park assets or monetary gifts through the Park Asset Donation Programme. Your contribution can become a lasting memorial or legacy for everyone to enjoy.
What you can donate
We accept a wide range of gifts for parks and trails across the city. Common donations include park benches, picnic tables, trees, shrubs, playground equipment, and sports field amenities. You can also make a monetary donation to help us purchase items or fund larger projects.
How to apply
Applications are accepted year-round. You can download the Park Asset Donation Form and email it to our Parks Planning team. Once we receive your application, a Parks Planner will review it and help you find a suitable location that matches the gift. For plantings like trees and shrubs, we will schedule the installation for spring or fall to give them the best chance to survive.
Recognition and plaques
All donors receive a personal letter of thanks from the City. If your gift is valued at $500.00 or more, we will also install a 4-inch by 6-inch bronze plaque. You can design the message with staff, keeping it to a maximum of 75 characters. We ask that you double-check all spelling and contact details before submitting.
For larger special projects over $2,000.00, recognition may include a public unveiling or opening ceremony, once approved by Council.
Maintenance and installation
The City handles the installation of all approved gifts. We will maintain and repair your donated item for ten years from the date we receive it. After ten years, we will continue basic maintenance, but we are not required to repair or replace damaged or worn-out gifts.
Tax receipts
Most donations to the City are eligible for a tax receipt under Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. We mail tax receipts for all donations of $25.00 or more. Requests for receipts on smaller gifts are also mailed upon request.
