Work in recreation
Do you love being active and helping your community? The City of Wrenford hires staff to run our recreation centres, pools, arenas, and parks. Working in recreation means you get to spend your day helping people have fun, stay healthy, and connect with others. You will work alongside the Recreation Programs team led by Caroline Dubé and the wider facilities staff.
Our recreation network includes the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, Northgate Aquatic Centre, Westbrook Community Arena, Eastfield Twin Arenas, Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre, Kingfisher Outdoor Pool, and Larch Heights Golf Course. We also maintain the Wildrye Splash Pad and the trails around Ambrel Lake Park.
Program staff and instructors
Program staff are the heart of our recreation system. You might work as a Recreation Leader, a Programmer, or a specialized Instructor. In these roles, you help plan and run classes, lessons, and community events. You could teach yoga, lead a sports clinic, or help organize a cultural festival.
We are always looking for people who can create inclusive spaces. Our Accessibility Coordinator, Katrina Doucet, works with staff to make sure every program is welcoming for all residents. If you have ideas for new classes or events, you can share them with the programs team.

Aquatics roles
Swimming is a big part of life in Wrenford, especially during the summer. We hire lifeguards, swim instructors, and pool attendants for our indoor and outdoor pools. If you enjoy working with children and adults in the water, this could be the job for you.
Aquatics staff must have current Canadian certifications, such as National Lifeguard Pool certification, Standard First Aid, and CPR. You will keep the water clean, help swimmers learn, and ensure everyone follows safety rules.

Facility operations and maintenance
Our facilities run smoothly because of the operations and maintenance teams. You could work as a cashier at the front desk, manage building maintenance, or help keep our athletic fields in great shape. Facility staff handle opening and closing duties, report maintenance issues, and ensure the buildings are safe and clean.
For field maintenance and outdoor upkeep, you will work closely with the Roads & Winter Maintenance team under Roads Superintendent James Whitford. You will help with mowing, line painting, and snow removal when the season changes.

Volunteer opportunities
Not ready to take on a paid role? You can still get involved. We welcome volunteers to help with day camps, special events, and community festivals. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, build skills, and give back to Wrenford.
