Reserve an artificial turf field
Wrenford has high-quality artificial turf fields available for soccer, football, field hockey, and other sports. You can book them for practices, league games, tournaments, or community events. All bookings require a permit and proof of insurance. Using an artificial turf field means you can play year-round, regardless of the weather.
Where to play
Our primary artificial turf facility is the Riverside Turf Fields. The fields are lined for soccer and football, feature LED lighting for evening play, and include change rooms, washrooms, and spectator seating nearby. The playing surface is maintained year-round for consistent performance and proper drainage.
What you can do on the field
Artificial turf is great for a wide range of activities. Common uses include:
- Weekly team practices and league matches
- Youth and adult sports camps
- Community festivals and charity matches
- Corporate team-building events
- Professional filming (requires a separate media permit from Arts & Heritage)
How to book
Bookings are managed through the Wrenford Recreation Online portal. You can also pick up a paper application at City Hall or any recreation centre.
- Submit your application at least 14 days before your first event date.
- Attach a certificate of insurance naming the City of Wrenford as additionally insured for $2 million in liability coverage.
- Payment is due in full before the booking is confirmed.
- If you need custom field markings for a specific sport or tournament logo, note this on your application. These requests require advance approval and may take extra time to process.

Rates vary by user type. All prices exclude tax.

A late submission fee of $20.00 per hour applies if you book fewer than 14 days in advance. A $35.00 administration fee covers permit processing and field marking.
Rules and policies
We want everyone to enjoy our facilities safely and fairly. Please note the following:
- Cancellation policy: Full refunds are given for cancellations made 14 days or more before the event. Cancellations made three to 14 days before receive a 50% refund. No refund is given for cancellations made less than three days before the event.
- Weather delays: If play is cancelled due to severe weather or unsafe field conditions, you may rebook or receive a credit. Lightning rules require a 30-minute wait after the last thunder or lightning.
- Field markings: The City provides standard soccer and football lines. Custom markings for other sports require advance approval and may incur an extra fee.
- Equipment: Portable goals, nets, and equipment are allowed but must be removed after use. The City is not responsible for lost or damaged personal property.
- Respect for people and property: All users must follow the Park and Facility Use By-law 2025-162. Alcohol is not permitted without a special event permit. Noise levels must remain respectful of nearby residents.
