What the zoning by-law does
The Zoning By-law 2016-040 controls how land is used across Wrenford. It tells property owners what kinds of buildings can be built, how large they can be, and what activities are allowed on a piece of land. By following these rules, we keep homes, businesses, and industry in the right places so everyone can live and work safely.
How zoning matches the Official Plan
The by-law puts the goals from the City of Wrenford Official Plan into action. The Official Plan sets out the long-term vision for our growth, housing, transit, and downtown areas. The zoning by-law makes sure that vision actually happens on the ground by matching the right zones to the right places. This helps us deliver on key directions like improving housing choice, supporting a vibrant downtown, and protecting our natural areas like the Corvid Creek Ravine and the Tamsin River.
Using the by-law and zoning maps
The by-law is divided into chapters for each zone. Each chapter lists the allowed uses, building sizes, parking rules, and setbacks. You can view the full by-law and interactive maps on our Zoning maps page. The maps show which zone applies to your property, so you know what rules apply before you start a project.
