Planning fees

Find the fee schedule, payment methods, and refund policy for planning applications like official plan amendments, variances, and subdivisions.

What you need to know

Planning application fees cover the cost of reviewing your proposal against the Official Plan, Zoning By-law 2016-040, and provincial guidelines. Fees vary based on the type of application, the size of your property, and the complexity of the review. All fees are set out in the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151.

How to pay

  • Online: Pay securely through the Wrenford ePermit portal when you submit your application.
  • In person: Visit the Service Wrenford counter at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street.
  • By mail: Send a cheque or money order payable to the "City of Wrenford" to Room 310, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1.

Tip: Applications cannot be processed until the full fee is received. Delayed payment may push back your review timeline.

Processing times and reviews

If your submission is missing documents, you will receive a letter explaining what is needed. A $75.00 completeness check fee applies if the application is returned for missing information before formal review begins.

Standard processing times vary by application type. Minor variance decisions are typically made at the monthly Committee of Adjustment meeting. Official Plan amendments require a six-to-eight-week staff evaluation, followed by a public hearing.

Refund policy

If you need to cancel or withdraw an application, a refund may be available depending on the review stage. Advertising fees are refunded if an application is withdrawn before the first completeness check. Once a decision has been rendered, no refunds are issued.
