Common zones in Wrenford
Wrenford uses a zone code system to keep regulations consistent across the city. Here are the zones you will see most often:
- Residential (R) — Single-detached houses, duplexes, secondary suites, and laneway homes. Includes neighbourhoods like Riverside Flats, Northgate, and Wildrye.
- Commercial (C) — Retail stores, offices, restaurants, and personal services. Found along Tamsin Street, Eastfield Road, and in the downtown grid.
- Industrial (I) — Manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics. Located in Industrial Park East and along the railway corridor.
- Agricultural (A) — Farming, nurseries, and agritourism. Covers the outer concession roads and the Benchlands fringe.
- Tamsin River Corridor (TR) — A special overlay zone that protects the river valley and limits building footprints near the water.
- Old Mill Heritage District (OMHD) — A designated heritage conservation district around the 1834 grist mill. Facades and exterior changes require heritage review.
Ward boundaries and zoning
Wrenford is divided into six council wards. Zoning rules apply city-wide, but you can use the ward boundary layer to find out which councillor represents your area. Ward maps are updated after every municipal election.
