The City of Wrenford is reminding residents that the overnight on-street parking ban returns on November 15, 2026. This seasonal rule applies to all main roads across the city through March 31.
During the ban, you cannot park on the street from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night. The rule gives snowplow and salt trucks room to clear main roads safely and quickly. Residential streets will be plowed once we see eight centimetres of snow, while main roads are cleared starting at five centimetres. Moving your vehicle is the best way to help keep your neighbourhood accessible.
If you need a break from the overnight ban, you can apply for an exemption. Residents living in high-density areas or those with limited off-street parking can request a snow route parking ban exemption. Please submit your application before the ban begins so your permit is ready when the snow falls.
Winter weather can change quickly, so it is a good idea to mark your calendar and plan ahead. You can also check the snow clearing schedule to see how crews prioritise routes. If you have a mobility aid, a medical condition, or a temporary situation that makes moving your car difficult, please reach out to By-law Enforcement or your ward councillor for guidance.
“The overnight parking ban is a simple step that makes a big difference for our winter maintenance crews,” said City Manager Robert Eng. “When main roads are clear between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., plows can work faster, and emergency vehicles can reach every part of the city safely.”
Keep an eye on the service alerts page for any weather updates or temporary route changes. Thank you for helping Wrenford stay safe and clear all winter long.
