Wildrye Splash Pad opens to cool off families this July

The City of Wrenford is opening the Wildrye Splash Pad at Wildrye Park on July 10 so you and your family can cool off in the growing Wildrye neighbourhood. The splash pad features new spray jets, a shaded seating area, and a non-slip surface designed for toddlers and school-aged children. You will find it at 90 Wildrye Drive, just off Concession 4 Road. The facility is free to use and runs daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. until Labour Day.

Wildrye is one of Wrenford's newest neighbourhoods, and the splash pad adds a key piece of recreation space for the young families you see moving in. City planners have been working closely with developers and residents to make sure new housing areas include parks, trails, and recreation spaces that match the rest of the city.

"We want every new family that moves into Wildrye to feel right at home from day one," said City Manager Robert Eng. "Adding the splash pad alongside the new pathway connections and playground upgrades shows our commitment to building complete neighbourhoods."

If you are looking for housing in Wildrye, you can explore the City's non-market housing options or apply for the affordable housing program if you meet the eligibility criteria. New homeowners can also check out the home repair and accessibility funding page for grants that help with yard work and exterior upgrades.

The splash pad is maintained by the Parks & Trails team, who check the water quality and equipment weekly. You must supervise children at all times and wear swim shoes. For full details on splash pad hours, nearby washrooms, and seasonal programming, visit the Parks and trails page.
