Waste collection resumes normal schedule after Election Day

The City of Wrenford is reminding residents that garbage, recycling and organics collection will follow a modified schedule the week of the municipal election on Monday, October 26, 2026. Services will return to the regular biweekly and weekly schedules the week following the election.

Collection crews will not operate on Election Day, October 26. If your regular collection day falls on Monday, October 26, your waste and recycling carts will be picked up on Tuesday, October 27. If your collection day falls on Tuesday, October 27, or later in the week, there will be no delay and collection will proceed as normal. Residents with biweekly garbage collection should note that their next pickup will be the week of November 2.

Please ensure all carts are placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Do not place bags or loose items next to the carts, as this can cause collection issues. Our automated trucks need clear space to operate safely and pick up every cart on time.

"We know election week can be busy with polling stations and community events," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Keeping your carts out by 7:00 a.m. and following the rules for bag placement helps our crews work efficiently so we can get back to normal service as soon as possible."
