Tamsin River Run returns for the 2026 annual event

The annual Tamsin River Run returned this past May, bringing runners, walkers, and families to the Tamsin River Trail for a day of fitness and community spirit.

Organized with support from local community groups, the event offered a five-kilometre fun run, a two-kilometre family walk, and a fully accessible rolling track for strollers and wheelchairs. Every participant received a finisher medal and a reusable water bottle. The trail was closed to vehicles from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on May 24 so volunteers and city crews could set up water stations and cheering zones safely.

City staff and volunteers managed the course, traffic control, and cleanup. The event highlights why the 64-kilometre trail system is a cornerstone of our active lifestyle. It also brings attention to the trails' importance for all ages, from youth learning to ride a bike to older adults enjoying a steady morning walk.

"The Tamsin River Run is more than just a race; it is a celebration of the space we share," said City Manager Robert Eng. "Seeing neighbours of every age group out on the trail together is exactly what makes Wrenford special."
