Remembrance Day Service planning committee invites community participation

The City of Wrenford Remembrance Day Service planning committee invites residents to volunteer and participate in this year's ceremony at the Cenotaph in Centennial Gardens. The event takes place on Monday, November 11, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

We are looking for community volunteers to help with setup, parking, and crowd management. Local schools, civic groups, and first responders are encouraged to register their marching units. If you are a veteran or a member of the military, you are welcome to join the procession. You can register your marching unit through our planning applications portal.

"Celebrating our veterans and those who serve is at the heart of what we do," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "We want every resident to have a meaningful way to take part, whether through volunteering, marching, or simply standing in quiet reflection."

Motorists should expect delays on Water Street and Mercer Street between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The City will install detour signs and direct traffic. Wrenford Transit will run a modified schedule; Route 1 and Route 2 will detour around the closed block. Check the Event Calendar for full route details.

Garbage and Green Bin collection on November 11 will be delayed until November 13. Please place carts at the curb by 6:00 p.m. on November 10. City Hall and Centennial Gardens will close early at 2:00 p.m. on November 10 and remain closed on November 11.
