Request use of municipal property

Book parks, halls, and recreation spaces for your event. Learn how to apply, fees, rules, and who to contact.

What you can book

You can reserve City-owned parks, community halls, and recreation spaces for gatherings, sports practices, cultural events, or private functions. Most spaces are available to residents, non-profit groups, and local businesses. You must follow City rules to keep the space safe and clean for everyone.

How to make a request

All bookings go through the Community Space Booking Portal. You will need to create an account and submit your preferred dates, times, and event details. Staff will review your request and confirm availability within five business days.

Parks and outdoor spaces

Many parks can be reserved for picnics, family reunions, or small festivals. You must submit a park use application at least fourteen days in advance. For large events that block roads or use more than two hectares, you will also need a street use permit and a traffic management plan.

Indoor facilities and halls

Community halls and recreation centres offer shelter and washrooms. These spaces often require proof of liability insurance. You must provide a certificate of insurance naming the City of Wrenford as an additional insured before the event date.

Rules you must follow

When you book a space, you are responsible for the area during your scheduled time. Please keep these key rules in mind:

  • Clean up after yourself. You must remove all trash, decorations, and equipment. Leave the space as you found it.
  • Follow noise limits. Residential areas have quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Check the Noise By-law 2016-122 for decibel limits and equipment restrictions.
  • Manage waste properly. Use City bins or bring your own. Illegal dumping or overflowing bins will result in fines under the Clean Yards By-law 2019-113.
  • Protect trees and grass. Do not park vehicles on lawns or drive through protected tree zones. Heavy equipment requires a separate site alteration permit.

Booking fees and deposits

Fees depend on the space, the duration of the booking, and whether you are a resident or a non-profit group. A refundable damage deposit is required for most indoor bookings and large outdoor events.

Space type Resident rate Non-profit rate Commercial rate
Park shelter or pavilion (half day) $75.00 $125.00 $250.00
Community hall (evening) $150.00 $200.00 $350.00
Large event lawn (full day) $200.00 $300.00 $500.00

Non-profit groups must submit a letter of incorporation and proof of charitable status to qualify for the reduced rate. All payments are processed through the Booking Portal.
