The Wrenford Public Library is launching a new weekly storytime program at the Northgate Branch to build early reading skills for young children and their families. Starting January 27, the Northgate Early Literacy Series will run every Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. during regular library hours.
Early literacy is a key part of your child's development. This free series gives you simple tools to read, sing, and play at home. Each session features age-appropriate picture books, finger plays, and short songs that encourage language growth and social skills. You are welcome to bring your child from birth to five years old. No library card is required, but you can pick up a free card at the front desk before the session begins.
“We want every young reader in Wrenford to have the best possible start,” said Tara Sandhu, Library CEO. “Storytime is about more than just listening to a book. It builds a strong foundation for learning and gives caregivers practical ways to support their child's growth right from the start.”
The program is designed for children who are pre-verbal through kindergarten age. You can bring a blanket or small chair, but the library also provides seating. Masks are optional and recommended for anyone who is feeling unwell. The Northgate Branch is located at 900 Northgate Boulevard, just north of the Northgate Aquatic Centre. Street parking is available on the surrounding roads, and the building has an accessible entrance on the main street side.
Registration is not required for the morning sessions, but space is limited to 20 children and their accompanying adults. We encourage you to arrive 10 minutes early to find a seat. For a full list of programming dates and to view more children's reading programs, visit the library website or call 519-555-0131. If you would like to learn how to apply for a free library card online or in person, staff can assist you during your visit.
The library board thanks the community for its support and looks forward to welcoming young readers and their families to the Northgate Branch this winter. For more information about library services, visit the Wrenford Public Library — Northgate Branch page.
