The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad at 15 Kingfisher Court will officially open for the season on Tuesday, May 25, 2026. The opening follows the completion of final building inspections and site clearance over the past month.
While the May 25 date is confirmed, the City reminds you that all outdoor aquatic amenities are weather dependent. If cold rain or unseasonal winds hit the morning of opening day, crews will delay the launch to keep you safe. The pool will operate on a standard summer schedule, with lifeguard-supervised leisure swims, family sessions, and drop-in lap times available daily from late June through Labour Day. The splash pad will begin running as soon as temperatures consistently reach 20°C.
“Completing the necessary construction inspections and securing all final permits has been a team effort across multiple departments,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We are eager to open the gates for the Kingfisher neighbourhood and surrounding communities, and we will keep you updated on any weather-related changes through our regular service channels.”
You can track the status of the pool’s construction permits or view the associated development application files through the City’s public registry. The building permit and site plan control documents for the Kingfisher facility are now closed and archived in the system. If you have questions about the permit process or want to view inspection reports for other municipal projects, visit the Find a planning application.
The City will post official operating hours and program registrations in the summer Leisure Guide later this month. Until then, check the City website for the latest updates on aquatic facility openings across Wrenford.
