Fall cleanup initiative begins at Ambrel Lake Park September 4

On Friday, September 4, 2026, City of Wrenford parks crews will begin a fall cleanup at Ambrel Lake Park. The work will clear accumulated debris, inspect the lakeside boardwalk, and prepare the playground and picnic shelters for the cooler months.

The cleanup will focus on three main areas. First, crews will remove fallen leaves and branches from the trails and lake edge to keep drains clear. Second, staff will check the boardwalk for any loose boards or worn railings and secure them. Finally, crews will check the playground equipment and picnic shelters, clearing out debris that may have built up over the summer.

The park will remain open during the work. You may see temporary signage or short detours around the boardwalk as crews work through the site. The project is expected to run from September 4 to September 18.

"We want to make sure Ambrel Lake Park is safe and welcoming for everyone as the season changes," said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "This cleanup helps us catch small issues early so they don't become bigger repairs later. It also keeps the trails and boardwalk clear for your fall walks."

If you notice any maintenance issues while visiting the park, please report them. You can use the online form or call 311 to let the Parks & Trails team know. Please keep dogs on a short leash near the boardwalk and playground while crews are working.
