The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility at 3500 Concession 4 Road is open to the public again starting Monday, February 9. The site closed earlier this month for scheduled winter maintenance, equipment checks, and snow clearing so staff could safely prepare for the rest of the year.
The facility returns to its regular hours of Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residents can once again use the drop-off depot for items like mattresses, construction debris, and tree trunks. Keep in mind that the household hazardous waste depot remains closed for the season and will reopen on Saturday mornings from May through October. Leaf and yard waste collection is also on pause; curbside pickup for paper yard-waste bags runs biweekly from April through November.
Staff have cleared all access roads and treated the entrance ramps for traction. If you are driving in, please watch for wet or icy patches near the weigh bridge and follow all posted signs. We ask that you keep your vehicle at a safe distance from the active tipping face and dispose of waste in the correct containers.
"We appreciate everyone's patience while we got the site ready for spring," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Our crews have completed all the winter checks on our scales and equipment, and we are excited to welcome residents back to the depot."
