Applications for 2026 park rental permits are now open for residents, community groups, and businesses looking to book City parks and facilities. Whether you are planning a birthday party at a picnic shelter, hosting a league tournament on a grass field, or organizing a community festival, you can now submit your request online.
Permits are available for park shelters, picnic sites, sports fields, and pathway segments. The standard fee for a basic rental is $150.00, while special events with more than 50 attendees cost $300.00. Portable washrooms are available at a rate of $120.00 per unit per day. All applicants must submit their request at least 30 days before the planned event date.
"We know that securing a popular date in the spring and summer can be competitive," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "Starting your application early gives you the best chance of getting your preferred location and time slot, and it helps our team process requests quickly and fairly."
To apply, you will need to upload a certificate of insurance naming the City as an additionally insured, with a minimum coverage of $2,000,000 in general liability. This insurance requirement ensures that any accidental damage or injury is covered. You can find a list of approved insurance providers on the online application portal.
Once your application is submitted, the Parks & Trails team will review it and contact you within ten business days to confirm availability or request changes. If your event is cancelled more than 30 days in advance, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the event date are non-refundable.
