City announces winter parking ban start date for 2026 season

The City of Wrenford announces that the overnight on-street parking ban for the 2026–2027 winter season will begin on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. The ban runs from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily until March 31, 2027, as outlined in Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097.

During these hours, you must move your vehicle off-street to a driveway, garage, or nearby public parking lot. This gives our winter maintenance crews the space they need to clear the road safely and quickly. Main roads are plowed after 5 centimetres of snow, while residential streets are cleared after 8 centimetres.

“By keeping streets clear overnight, our winter maintenance crews can clear roads faster and safer, ensuring you get home safely in the dark,” said Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. “Our crews can move even quicker if everyone complies with the ban and moves their vehicles when their street is scheduled for clearing.”

Check the Roads & Winter Maintenance page for route maps and schedules. You can also sign up for winter service alerts to get notifications when your area is scheduled for plowing.

If you live on a snow route and have a verified mobility condition, you can apply for a snow route parking ban exemption. These exemptions are free and allow you to keep your vehicle on the street during clearing operations.
