On September 9, 2026, the City announced the official 2027 park rental rates and booking policies, effective January 1, 2027. These updates keep our green spaces, pathways, and facilities safe and well-maintained while giving you clear costs to plan your events.
For 2027, the standard rate for a greenspace or pathway rental is $60.00 per day. Major pathway segments are available for $90.00 per day. If your event needs extra facilities, portable washrooms are available at $120.00 per unit per day. All applicants must carry $2,000,000 in general liability insurance that names the City as an additional insured.
Booking your space is straightforward. You must submit your application at least 30 days before your planned date. The City offers a full refund if you cancel 30 days or more before the event. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the event date are non-refundable. For park pathway permits, such as garden paths or boardwalks, the application fee is $150.00 and requires a ten business day review.
“Ensuring our parks remain safe, accessible, and well-maintained is a top priority for the City,” says Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “As we plan for 2027, these updated rates and clear booking guidelines will help us fund essential upgrades and keep the facilities running smoothly for everyone.”
Several other policies are in effect for the 2027 season. Commercial fitness instructors must book a Commercial Fitness Park Permit ($75.00 application fee, $50.00 base hourly rate). Park fire safety rules require grills to be at least 75 centimetres high and propane fire pits to have a special permit. Smoking and vaping are prohibited within 6.0 metres of any park building entrance. For parking, the Market Square Parking Garage charges $3.00 per hour or $12.00 per day, and designated park lots offer daily passes for $8.00.
