Planning an outdoor gathering in Wrenford? You can reserve a park shelter or picnic site for your family reunion, birthday party, or community event. This guide explains how to secure your spot and what you need to know before you arrive.
Where you can book
You have two convenient options to make a reservation. You can complete the process online using the Park Shelter Booking Form on our website, or you can visit the Parks and Recreation Office in person. If you prefer to speak with a staff member directly, call 519-555-0100 or dial Wrenford 311 for assistance.
Check availability and fees
Before you book, check the availability calendar on the booking page. Shelters and picnic sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis for walk-up reservations, but advance booking is recommended for weekends and holidays. Fees vary depending on the location and the size of the shelter. Most standard picnic sites are free, but covered shelters require a daily rental fee. Payment can be made by credit card online or by cash, cheque, or debit at the Parks Office.
What you need to provide
When you fill out the Park Shelter Booking Form, you will need to provide the following information:
- Contact details: Your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
- Event information: The date and time of your event, the expected number of attendees, and the type of activity (e.g., casual gathering, organized sports, private party).
- Equipment needs: Indicate if you require additional items such as charcoal grills, water access, or trash bin service.
- Liability waiver: You must agree to the city’s terms and conditions, which include a liability waiver for all booked facilities.
Important rules and guidelines
Once your reservation is confirmed, you are responsible for the site. Please follow these guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone:
- No alcohol: The consumption of alcohol is prohibited in all park shelters unless a special event permit is obtained.
- Decorations: You may use non-damaging decorations. Do not nail anything to structures or trees. Balloons are not permitted due to environmental concerns.
- Food and waste: You must remove all food waste and trash before leaving. Use the provided bins or take your garbage with you. Littering is a violation of city by-law.
- Noises: Keep music and noise at a reasonable level. Do not use amplifiers or speakers without prior approval.
- Clean-up: Sweep the shelter area and wipe down tables after your event. Failure to clean up may result in a fine and future booking restrictions.
Changes and cancellations
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, please do so at least 48 hours in advance. Contact the Parks and Recreation Office to process any changes. No-shows or failure to cancel within the required timeframe may result in a fee for the full rental cost.
