Canada Day in the Park event details released for Wrenford

Get ready to celebrate Canada Day in the Park at Centennial Gardens on Friday, July 1. The City of Wrenford invites residents and visitors to enjoy a day of live music, family-friendly activities and local food vendors right in the heart of downtown.

The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the event lawn near the cenotaph. Free admission is available for all ages. Local performers will take the stage throughout the afternoon, and a kids' craft zone will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for children and families. Food trucks and pop-up market stalls from downtown merchants will line the north side of Victoria Street.

What you need to know before you go

  • Transit: Wrenford Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on July 1. Routes 1 through 14 will operate on reduced timetables, and the Downtown Transit Terminal will open at 7:00 a.m. Plan your trip ahead of time using the Transit page.
  • Parking: On-street parking is free on Canada Day. However, please follow all posted signs to keep emergency and transit routes clear. Review the Parking page for details on paid zones and holiday schedules.
  • Park rules: Centennial Gardens will be closed to vehicle traffic between Victoria Street and the garden perimeter from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No drones or large tents are allowed. If you bring a barbecue, please check the Public Safety guidelines and use designated grilling areas only.
  • Accessibility: The event lawn is fully accessible. Wheelchairs and mobility aids are available to borrow at the main information tent. Report any accessibility needs for the event to Accessibility or call 519-555-0100.

"We want Canada Day in the Park to feel like a true community gathering," says Events Coordinator Rosa Castellano. "We've worked with local vendors, the Wrenford Police Service and the fire department to make sure everyone has a safe and fun day out."

As the city looks ahead to the municipal election on October 26, 2026, candidates and third parties should note that all standard Election sign bylaws apply during the event. Campaign signs are not permitted on the event lawn or on park trees. If you plan to distribute election advertising on the street, please review the Election advertising and signs page for rules on door-to-door canvassing and public speaking limits.
