The City of Wrenford will close its offices on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, for Canada Day. While the city shuts down for the long weekend, residents should plan ahead for transit, waste collection, and park access.
City offices and services
City Hall, the Civic Operations Centre, and the Provincial Offences Court will be closed. The Service Wrenford counter will not be open for walk-in service. If you need to pay a parking ticket or utility bill, you can use the Revenue Services drop box at City Hall or pay online through Manage your utility account. For after-hours emergencies, call 911. For non-emergency service requests, dial 311 inside city limits, or call 519-555-0100.
Transit and waste collection
Wrenford Transit will run on a reduced weekend schedule. The Downtown Transit Terminal will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for fare sales and passenger service. If you need specialized transit through Wrenford Access, please call Wrenford Access to schedule your ride. Waste collection continues as usual. Garbage, Blue Box recycling, and Green Bin organics will be picked up on their regular schedule. Paper yard-waste bags are not accepted on the holiday. The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility will be closed, but the Northgate Drop-off Depot will follow its regular Wednesday schedule.
Parks and trails
All city parks, trails, and outdoor facilities remain open. Centennial Gardens will host Canada Day in the Park, featuring local performers and family activities. Riverside Flats Park will also host holiday events. Public washrooms at parks will be closed.
"Canada Day is a wonderful time for our community to come together," says Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "We encourage everyone to enjoy the celebrations safely and to plan ahead for any city services they may need."
Fire prevention offices and park shelter bookings will follow holiday hours. If you have questions about facility rentals or park permits, contact Contact. For more details on holiday hours and service changes, visit Check holiday service hours.
