2026 statutory holidays
The City of Wrenford is closed on the following statutory holidays. City Hall, administrative offices, and most customer service counters will not be open. Transit and waste collection continue on a modified schedule.

December 24 to January 1
City Hall will be closed from December 24 through January 1, 2027. The Service Wrenford counter and all administrative offices will reopen on Monday, January 5.
Services that stay open
Some services continue to run on holidays or have modified hours.
- Emergency services: Call 9-1-1 for any emergency. Police, fire, and paramedic services operate 24 hours a day, every day.
- Wrenford Transit: Buses run on a Sunday or holiday schedule on all statutory holidays. Check the Transit maps for exact departure times.
- East Wrenford Waste Management Facility: Open on statutory holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except December 25.
- Northgate Drop-off Depot: Open on regular drop-off days (Wednesday and Saturday) unless the day falls on a holiday. Closed on December 24 and 25.
- Wrenford Police Service Headquarters: The front desk is open 24 hours for collision reports and record checks. Administrative staff are closed on holidays.
- Fire Station 1: Administration is closed on holidays. Burn permits and fire prevention office hours follow the regular Monday-to-Friday schedule.
Recreation and culture
Most recreation facilities follow their regular drop-in hours on holidays. Some may close early or be closed for staff training. Check the Find a City facility page for the latest drop-in schedules.
The Wrenford Public Library and its branches are independent boards. Check the Library website for holiday hours.
Waste collection on holidays
When a garbage or recycling day falls on a holiday, collection moves to the next day of the week. For example, if your regular collection day is Friday and the holiday is a Monday, your garbage and Blue Box will be collected on Tuesday. Green Bin organics follow the same rule.
