Did we miss your waste collection?
If your garbage, Blue Box, or Green Bin was not collected on your scheduled day, follow these three steps to get it picked up.
1. Check why your items were not collected
Before you report a missed collection, check for the following common issues that can prevent pickup:
- Time: Items must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Collection crews work through the day, but they cannot return to addresses missed due to time or access issues.
- Containers: All garbage must be in large, non-transparent bags. We do not collect loose garbage or items placed inside wooden crates or boxes. Blue Box recycling must be placed inside the bin without materials jammed too tightly. Green Bin organics must be closed and latched.
- Access: Carts and bags must be clear of parked vehicles, snow banks, vegetation, and utility work. Trucks need at least three metres of clearance to safely enter and exit your street or lane.
- Rejection tags: If a collector tagged your bin, read the notice carefully. Correct the problem and leave the tag on the bin. Do not submit a missed collection request for tagged items; fix the issue for your next scheduled pickup.
2. Report a missed collection
If none of the reasons above apply, report the missed pickup through Wrenford 311.
- Complete the online service request form and enter your address.
- Call 311 from inside city limits, or 519-555-0100 from outside.
- Submit a separate request for each bin that was missed.
City staff will review your request and contact you by email or phone to confirm the next collection date.
3. What to do while you wait
Keep your missed items secure until your next scheduled collection day. Do not leave extra bags or unpacked items at the curb unless they are in approved paper yard-waste bags or have a collection tag. Leaving unauthorized items out may violate Property Standards By-law 2019-112 By-laws.
