The Wrenford Public Library has announced the theme for its 2026 winter reading challenge: "Beyond the Horizon: Stories of Exploration and Resilience." The program runs from November 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, and is open to readers of all ages at all three library branches.
This year's challenge encourages you to pick up books that take you far from home, whether that means discovering a new culture, solving a mystery in a distant city, or learning how people have adapted to changing climates. Participants can track your reading progress using a free paper log available at the Main Branch, the Northgate Branch, or the Ambrel Lake Branch, or by signing up for our digital tracking tool.
"Winter is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and travel the world from the comfort of your armchair," said Tara Sandhu, Library CEO. "We want every resident to find a story that sparks their curiosity and keeps them engaged through the colder months."
Readers who complete the challenge will earn a certificate and a chance to enter a draw for a gift basket of local Wrenford-made treats and a one-year library card. Children and youth can also sign up for special reading circles and author visits hosted at the Main Branch throughout January and February.
To join the challenge, simply pick up a reading log at any branch or visit the Library section of our website to register online. If you need help with the digital sign-up, our librarians are happy to assist at the service desk.
