The Wrenford Public Library Board announced on September 11, 2025, an expanded interlibrary loan partnership that will allow residents to request books and digital materials from 12 additional regional libraries, with items arriving in as little as three business days.
Previously, the library borrowed from a smaller network of municipal libraries across the province. Thanks to a new agreement with the Tamsin Valley Regional Libraries network, patrons can now access a much wider range of materials. This includes e-books, audiobooks, physical books, and even some local history archives. The expanded network covers libraries from the Benchlands corridor down to the Ambrel Lake area and out to the surrounding townships.
Getting materials is easy. You simply log in to the library portal or visit any of our three branches to place a request. Our librarians will track down the item and ship it to your nearest branch. While the standard processing time for older or rare items remains two weeks, new partner items typically arrive much faster. You will receive a text or email as soon as your request is ready for pickup at the front desk.
"This partnership brings the world's books closer to our neighbours," said Tara Sandhu, Library CEO. "Whether you are looking for a specific academic text for school, a niche hobby book, or a popular fiction title, our librarians can find it for you. We want every resident to feel like they have unlimited access to knowledge right here in Wrenford."
To use the new service, you just need a valid Wrenford library card. If you do not have one yet, you can apply online or visit the main branch at 150 Mercer Street. All Wrenford residents can get a free card, and non-residents can apply for a paid annual card. Once your card is active, you can start browsing the expanded catalog immediately.
