As the city transitions from winter to spring, the overnight on-street parking ban is lifted across Wrenford parks and neighbourhoods effective today, January 9, 2025. You can return your vehicles to their regular spots now that roads crews have finished plowing the final residential streets and park-adjacent roads.
The ban, enforced under the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097, ran from December 1 to March 31 each year. It required drivers to move their cars between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. so snowplows and salt trucks could clear the roads safely. This year, the city started the ban on time and kept it in place until the last heavy snowfall was cleared and the roads were treated for ice.
"Spring is just around the corner, and we want to make sure our streets and park parking lots are accessible for everyone as the weather warms up," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "Thank you to all our drivers for moving their cars on time over the winter."
With the ban lifted, you can park your vehicles in your usual spots in the neighbourhoods and around park lots. Please remember to check Check parking regulations and bylaws for any seasonal changes, such as the start of street sweeping in April and May.
