The City of Wrenford has declared an overnight parking ban for the Ambrel Lake Park area and surrounding streets starting at 2:00 a.m. on November 15. The ban allows snow removal crews to clear the roads safely ahead of expected snowfall.
Under the ban, you cannot park on-street between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This rule applies to all vehicles in the affected zone, including residential and commercial parking. Any vehicle left on the street during these hours will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. This rule is enforced under the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097.
The full city-wide overnight parking ban officially begins on December 1 and runs through March 31. The early declaration for the Ambrel Lake Park area is a precautionary measure to keep the neighbourhood clear for snowplows and emergency vehicles.
"We declare these bans early when snow is forecast to ensure our streets stay clear for emergency vehicles and snowplows," said Roads Superintendent James Whitford. "Moving your car ahead of the storm saves time and keeps everyone safe."
If you need an exemption because you live in the affected area or have a medical condition, you can apply online or visit the Service Wrenford counter at City Hall. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also dial 311 for updates on snow clearing routes.
